Day 35: Painted Bat Pumpkins

Today we made painted bat pumpkins!

Fly away, little pumpkin!

This Thursday's craft is courtesy of Good Housekeeping. As always, directions and sarcasm in the captions below!

Supply shot! It's basically just a pumpkin, some paint, ribbons, and pins.
Please note that we ultimately switched out white pins for black
ones. They matched the bats better, making them more festive!

So start off by painting your pumpkin! Any design your little Halloween heart desires!

Here is a very pensive and painting blogger. Got to get these paint smears right!

In the end, I basically just painted sort-of triangles along the top. Simple enough...

Next, cut the ribbons to make your bats. And look very happy about it too.
You are making bats, after all.

Once the ribbons are cut, tie a knot in the center, and trim the ends of their
wings to look somewhat like bats. Obviously, mine aren't quite
reflective of nature, but hey, creative license!

Then pin those bats on your pumpkin!

And that's it! An optional final step is to find a cool tree and stick your pumpkin
in the branches for a killer photo opp. Because really, why not?

And that is our craft for today! Pretty easy and pretty fun! Join us tomorrow for even more jubilant and sometimes disastrous Halloween goings-on!
