Day 50: Apple Monsters

For today's craft, we made apple monsters!

An army of produce never looked so good!

As always, crafts are best illustrated with images, so here's a pictorial of how to take those Red Delicious (or any apple variety really) and make them into beasties!

Today's supplies are pretty simple: vampire teeth, apples, and a paring knife!

Measure the vampire teeth against the apple to get a general idea of
how much apple you need to hollow out. It's not an exact science,
so just do your best.

And start cutting! Ignore the sound of the apple screaming
in agony. It always does that! What a whiner...

An apple, half-hollowed and ready to go!

You might want to create small divots for the hinges of the teeth.
That will make the fit a bit snugger. You don't want those
vampire teeth escaping!

Once you've got the teeth in place, carve out the eyes and nose,
and you're all finished. Yup. It's that simple!

A nice thing about this craft is that there's no waste. Provided you
clean the vampire teeth first, you can still eat the apples (and anything
you carved out). Creepy AND nutritious!

This whole craft took about five minutes.
And look at that face! Too cute, right?

A family of apple monsters! They're coming to get you! And don't
expect these baddies to help you keep the doctor away!

That's all we've got for today! Join us again tomorrow as we enter the homestretch to Halloween!
