Day 43: Bead Spiders

At long last, the bead spiders have arrived!

Spider army! Not quite as cool as my pal Payden's real-life spider
army, but eh, it will have to do.

First off, I once again need to give Bill credit for today's idea. He's really assumed the Halloween mantle this year and found us a lot of cool projects.

However, I'm going to be honest--we took today's pictures while we were working on the spiders, but you can't tell what we're doing at all. It's mostly just me scowling at wire. I'll include our images below, but if you want an actual how-to, check out these videos here and here.

Anyhow, let the scowling and general shenanigans commence!

Supplies. Mostly beads and wire and a little bit of spider magic.
(I don't know what that means but it sounds cool.)

Starting with the body. So far, so good.

This is supposed to be a shot of me cutting a wire, but with the flash
bleaching out some details, I look like I'm staring
into nothingness. Which is still pretty much true...

The body and head beads are attached at this point along with
the legs. Very stubby legs because Bill cut them too short.
For shame, husband. For shame.

This is me glaring at the other spiders in the army, all of whom
have legs far longer than my spider. Daddy long legs,
my spider is not.

But hey! I still have a bead spider, so that's a pretty good day!

Here's my finished spider. He looks like a B-movie monster!

And Bill's latest spider. Also with stubby legs, but he makes the
best with what he was given in life.

And that's our craft for today! Head on back tomorrow. Our spider army commands it!
